Ben Affleck may have been on hand to roast Tom Brady – but the actor found himself the target of an online skewering as viewers questioned his appearance during Sunday night's live Netflix show, The Greatest Roast of All Time.
The actor, 51, made a surprise appearance on the telecast, launching into a bizarre speech about NFL fans on social media, dubbed a 'car crash' by some viewers.
Others took aim at Affleck's face, questioning if he had undergone a facelift.
But insiders have now shot down speculation he has been under the knife, claiming he was simply clean shaven and had had some Botox.
Ben Affleck sparked speculation he has had a face lift as he took to the stage to roast his friend Tom Brady for Netflix's live show, The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady
The actor, 51, was skewered online by viewers over his apparent new look
The actor's smooth skin caught the attention of viewers, looking noticeably different to images of him in January this year (pictured)
'Ben looks great,' a source told DailyMail.com exclusively. 'He had Botox – everyone gets it before events. He has not had filler and definitely no surgery.'
They added his wife Jennifer Lopez, 54, is more than happy with his appearance and would not be keen for him to get surgery.
'Jennifer would not be keen on him changing his handsome face, nor would he want to,' they continued. 'Ben is confident in his skin. He just wanted it tighter.'
A separate source added: 'Ben has been blasted over and over and over for last few decades about everything, this is nothing new. And now that people think he has had a face lift is just a joke.'
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Affleck for comment.
Affleck was clean shaven and dressed in a suit as he took to the stage at the Kia Forum in California to roast his close friend, Brady, 46, as part of the Netflix Is a Joke Fest.
Viewers were quick to voice their concerns, with one branding his face 'insane.'
Another said: 'THIS is Ben Affleck? Why does his face look so different? It's almost like he had some nip & tucks done.'
But insiders shot down speculation he has been under the knife, claiming he was simply clean shaven and had had some Botox
An insider told DailyMail.com his wife Jennifer Lopez, 54, is more than happy with his appearance and would not be keen for him to get surgery
A third added: 'Ben Affleck is on stage fresh from a face lift.'
A fourth, wrote: 'Ben Affleck couldn't afford good plastic surgery? No wonder he seems so angry. That's permanent.'
The comment was a nod to Affleck's disdain for social media, with the actor spending the majority of his seven minute set complaining about fans who troll Brady as opposed to roasting the former New England Patriots player as required.
'Fans f*****g have your back,' he said. 'Fans buy tickets. Win or f*****g lose they support you... you sitting there hiding behind your keyboard spewing all this toxic s**t behind your keyboard... that doesn't make you a fan that makes you a b***h.'
He added that he couldn't think of 'a more f****d up, dysfunctional, horrible working system designed to perpetually make people feel awful,' before turning to Brady's former coach, Bill Belichick.
He then joked that he 'probably wouldn't work again after tonight.'
Fans jumped on X to voice their thoughts on Affleck's 'insane' face with many asking if he has had a few 'nips and tucks'
Affleck is the latest male celebrity to draw attention to his appearance after Ryan Gosling raised questions about his face at the premiere of his new movie, The Fall Guy, last week.
Brady has also faced speculation over his appearance, but his face escaped a brutal mocking during last night's show.
Nikki Glaser, Jeff Ross, Will Ferrell in character as Ron Burgundy, and Kim Kardashian, who received heavy booing from the audience, were among those who stepped up to roast him.
Kim, 43, looked taken aback as she attempted to make a joke about host Kevin Hart's height, with the comic having to jump in with 'woah, woah, woah,' in a bid to calm the jeering audience.
She also found herself the butt of jokes by other comedians, including Tony Hinchcliffe, who advised her to 'close your legs.'
Hinchcliffe, 39, made reference to Ferrell's Burgundy, who in the 2004 film Anchorman said: 'Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means 'a whale's vagina'.'
Nikki Glaser, Jeff Ross, Will Ferrell in character as Ron Burgundy, and Kim Kardashian (pictured), who received heavy booing from the audience, also roasted Brady on the night
Hinchcliffe said: 'A whales vagina, which reminds me. Kim Kardashian's here she's had a lot of black men celebrating her end zone.
'Kim word of advice: close your legs you have more public beef than Kendrick and Drake.'
Brady also joined in on the roasting during his response, making a dig at her ex-husband Kanye West and her four children.
'I know Kim was terrified to be here tonight,' he said. 'Not because of this, but because her kids are at home with their dad.'
Kim - who shares daughters North, 10, and Chicago, six, and sons Saint, eight, and Psalm, four, with the rapper – was seen shaking her head at the comment and struggling to smile as the audience erupted in cheer around her.
The SKIMS founder was romantically linked to the former quarterback last year.
